Two Delicious Recipes for Your Slow Cooker

Creamy ranch potatoes and scalloped potatoes and ham will have your family saying, "Seconds ,please!" All while your crockpot does the work.

Crockpots are a wonderful tool to put to use in your kitchen. They are perfect for the working mom and the busy stay-at-home mom. The working gal can put her supper in the crockpot in the morning and come home to a delicious smelling house. The SAHM mom can do the same in the morning and she knows no matter what happens during the day supper is ready.

These scrumptious potato dishes are just the thing for a crockpot meal. The ranch potato recipe can be turned into a complete meal by adding sliced kielbasa or cooked ham chunks. The scalloped potatoes and ham is almost a meal in itself already. Drain and add a can of peas, or your favorite vegetable – carrots, corn or mixed vegetables, a few minutes before serving.

Creamy Ranch Potatoes

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Place potatoes in a regular size slow cooker. In a small bowl mix the cream cheese with the salad dressing mix until well blended. Stir in soup, stir to mix well. Pour over the potatoes. Stir potatoes to coat.
  2. Place the lid on the crockpot and cook on low heat setting for 7 to 9 hours or on high heat setting for 3 1/2 to 4 ½ hours. Stir to blend before serving. Makes 6 servings

Scalloped Potatoes and Ham

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Combine the potatoes, onion, cheese and ham in a slow-cooker.
  2. Stir together the mushroom soup and water in a small bowl until soup is well blended.
  3. Pour the soup over the meat and potatoes.
  4. Put the lid on the crock pot. Cook on low heat for 8 – 10 hours or on high heat for 4 – 4 ½ hours.

Yield: 6 servings

NOTE: Again try varying the soups you use. Cream of broccoli is especially good in either one of these recipes. You can also and chicken instead of ham, browned hamburger or sausage.
