Ingredients for Ham Casserole:

  • 1 7-oz. package elbow macaroni
  • 1 10 3/4-oz. can cream of mushroom soup
  • 3/4 cups milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon celery salt
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup cooked cubed ham
  • 1 cup Panko* (Japanese breadcrumbs) or 2 cups bread cubes from slices
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter or margarine (to coat breadcrumbs)

Ham Casserole Cooking Directions:

  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Prepare macaroni as directed on package. Drain and set aside.
  3. Heat soup, milk, celery salt, cheese and Worcestershire sauce together. Stir to combine.
  4. Add ham to combined ingredients. Add mixture to cooked macaroni.
  5. Pour into greased 2-quart baking dish.
  6. Toss Panko or cubed bread with butter or margarine. Top casserole with crumbs or cubes.

Bake for 30 minutes or until topping is golden brown and macaroni is bubbly.

Serves 4-6 people.

*Panko is Japanese breadcrumbs. These course flakes add fewer calories to recipes and add a light crunchy topping to casseroles. Buy Panko in most any grocery store wherever breadcrumbs are sold.

Substitute low-fat milk and low-fat cheddar cheese for the listed recipe ingredients. Adding bread cubes or panko is optional. Omit melted butter and panko or cubed bread for fewer calories.
