With more people eating kosher food, here are some quick healthy kosher salad recipes that can be easily prepared and make for any Jewish or non-Jewish table alike.

There's nothing like a quick easy to prepare salad with Kosher salad ingredients to welcome in the Shabbat. These salad recipes contain unique salad ingredients, and they are a yummy addition to the Shabbat meal and the Jewish holidays. In fact, they can also be used for any day of the week.

How to Make a Terra Chip Salad

Ingredients

  • 2 heads of Romaine lettuce, chopped
  • 1 red pepper, sliced
  • 1 avocado, cubed
  • 1/3 c.slivered almonds
  • 1.1/2 cups Terra Chips, broken into pieces

Dressing:

  • 1/3 cup oil
  • 1/3 cup wine
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 3 tbsp ketchup
  • 3 tbsp minced onion

Mixed dressing ingredients with blender. Add terra chips to salad once it is dressed.

How to Make a Flatbread Salad

Ingredients

  • 1 head Romaine lettuce, chopped
  • 2 cups shredded purple cabbage
  • 1/2 pint cherry tomatoes, cut in half
  • 1/2 cup sliced red onion
  • Flatbread or other crackers, broken into pieces

Dressing:

  • 1/2 cup mayonnise
  • 1/4 cup oil mixed with 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp mustard
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Mix dressing ingredients in blender. Add flatbread or cracker pieces to salad once it is dressed.

How to Make a Caesar Salad

  • 2 heads Romaine lettuce, chopped
  • 1 cup croutons

Dressing:

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/6 cup water
  • 1/8 cup vinegar
  • 1/8 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 cloves garlic, crushed

Mixed dressing ingredients with blender. Add croutons after salad is dressed.

How to Make a Cabbage Salad

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cup shredded white cabbage
  • 2 1/2 cup shredded purple cabbage
  • 1 bunch scallions, chopped
  • 3/4 cup roasted almonds

3/4 cup rice noddles

Dressing:

  • 3/4 cup oil
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp. mustard
  • 1 tbsp, sugar

Directions

Whisk salad ingredients together. Add rice noodles once salad is dressed2 heads Romaine lettuce, chopped

How to Make a Greek Salad

Ingredients

  • 1/2 pint cherry tomatoes, cut in half
  • 1 cup black olives, sliced
  • 1 cucumber, sliced
  • 1/2 cup sliced red onion
  • 6 oz Feta cheese, crumbled

Dressing:

  • 2/3 cup oil
  • 6 tbsp wine vinegar
  • 6 tbsp lemon juice
  • 3 tsp oregano
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

How to Make a Pumpkin Hummus Salad

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp tahini (sesame seed paste)
  • 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/4 tsp ground red pepper
  • 1 (15 oz) can garbanzo beans
  • 1 (15-oz) can puree pumpkin (not pie mix)
  • 1 tbsp roasted garlic
  • salt and pepper, to taste

Directions

Place tahini and remaining ingredients in a food processor and process until smooth. Serve chilled with pita chips, crackers, or tortilla chips.

How to Make a Greek Feta and Garden Salad

Ingredients

  • 1 bag spinach
  • 1 cup zucchini, small diced
  • 1 cup yellow squash, small diced
  • 1 cup Spanish onion, small diced
  • 1 cup grape tomatoes, halved
  • 1 cup Jarlsberg cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup Girard's Greek Feta Vinaigrette
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Directions:

Combine all salad ingredients in mixing bowl. Pour 1/2 cup of vinaigrette to start, season to taste, add rest of vinaigrette over salad and serve.

You'll be surprised how easy and quick these salad recipes are to prepare; nothing like yummy and healthy salads to start off the Jewish new year and the fall season.
